 About the role

The role of the Senior Technical Consultant will be focused on increasing Telstra Purple’s market share by providing professional services to our enterprise customers, this role is to provide consulting services and lead medium-large complex engagements across our enterprise customer portfolio.

Your responsibilities

    • Drive the implementation of projects, this can include some supervision of other team members, basic project management (budgeting, resourcing etc) and managing support considerations in addition to the technical components of the project
    • High & low-level designs of solutions & integrations
    • Implement & activate solutions
    • Costings and estimations of work & profit
    • Documentation & customer presentations
    • Mitigate & solve any service disruptions due to implementation work
    • Testing & evaluating solution/integration during and post implementation
    • Perform hand-overs/training to customers & staff
    • Build & leverage relationships internally across Telstra Purple teams such as Sales, Delivery and Projects
    • Invest time and effort in maintaining current in knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies

To succeed, you’ll have:

    • Expert-level certification of leading network security vendors
    • Strong commercial experience in technology consulting / system integration experience
    • Firewall migration experience, with the following vendors preferred
    • Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, Checkpoint
    • Network security and data centre experience
    • Configuration and staging experience
    • Implementation and testing experience
    • Excellent design & documentation skills
    • Strong communication & presentation skills
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Proven ability to take initiative and get results with minimal supervision
    • Cisco Certification:
    • CCNP and/or CCIE (R&S and/or Security)
    • Palo Alto Networks Certification:
    • PCNSE and/or PCNSC
    • Juniper Certification:
    • JNCIS/P/E-SEC
    • Automation, orchestration and scripting
